Photos from 2023

Betty & I moved to Merimbula in January of this year where we have settled in a home in Mirador, which is a northern suburb of Merimbula. You can see a few photos here.

A few minutes drive away is a headland called Tura Headland. Its quite a nice walk out to it & there are some lookouts with nices views on the walk out. Here are some of the photos taken on our walks out there.

There is a walk along the western side of Merimbula lake known as the Merimbula Boardwalk. Its quite pretty & a nice walk which we've done a few times. Here are photos from one of those walks.

Less half an hour south of Merimbula is another town called Eden. It has a large natural harbour & used to me a major whaling port years ago. We've been down there a few times & taken photos. You can see some of the here.

In Merimbula there is a headland known as Short Point. It has a caravan park & is between Merimbula Lake & Back Lake. It's quite a pretty spot & has a walk out to the very "point" . :)  We went for a walk out there & here are the photos.

In October, we drove up to a conference in Port Macquarie & on the way up we stayed with Geoff & Mary who live on Lake Macquarie. On the Saturday we were there, we went & had a BBQ at an area call Rathmines where a seaplane base was located during World War 2. You can see some of the photos I took here.

Enjoy!

To get the best from the photos ...

Please make sure that  your screen is calibrated so that you can see all the shades in the image below;

Screen calibration image

You must be able to see all this:
-- 20 sections of equal width and different tone
-- the darkest section must be pure black
-- the lightest section must be pure white
-- there must be no hint of color anywhere along the grey spectrum
If you don't see 20 different tones, you may need to lower the contrast.
If black is not pure black, you need to either darken the monitor or adjust the black point.
If white is not pure white, you need to either lighten the monitor or adjust the white point.
If both black and white are not pure, try to boost the overall contrast or adjust both, the black and white points. If there is a color cast, try and adjust the color balance. Some software allows you to do this separately for both ends of the grey spectrum
